More About YOUR Therapist
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and the services I offer. I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Jenny Barbour, and I’ve proudly called West Virginia home since I was five years old. I began my college journey at Marshall University, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2013 and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in August 2016. After completing two years of supervised clinical experience, I obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a wide range of clinical settings, including long-term residential treatment for adolescents, inpatient substance use treatment, short- and long-term inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient substance use and Medication-Assisted Treatment programs, on-site crisis response, and outpatient private practice. These diverse experiences have allowed me to support individuals and families across many stages of life and levels of care.

In February 2024, I founded Barbour Behavioral Health & Consulting with the goal of providing compassionate, personalized care in a supportive and professional environment.

My Therapeutic Style
I draw from an integrative approach to therapy, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Polyvagal Theory–informed interventions, DBT, CBT, ICBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and ACT. By tailoring these approaches to each individual’s unique needs, I strive to provide thoughtful, personalized care.

Clients often leave sessions with increased insight, practical tools, and greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your experiences, foster healing, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you.

Trainings:

I completed EMDRIA Certified EMDR Training in February 2022, and many Advanced EMDR trainings since. I have also completed various trainings on Polyvagal Theory, OCD treatment modalities, and ACT.Â
